The Troy Community Chorus has announced that Willa Adamo, 17, of Troy was chosen as the 2010 recipient
of the Troy Community Chorus Music Scholarship.
Willa
Adamo is a junior at Troy Athens High School. She is a member of the Athens Magic Show Choir, the Athens Theatre Company
and Ridgedale Players, Troy's community theater. Willa is also a member of the Troy Youth Council and the National Honor Society
Omega Chapter. Willa started her musical studies when she was eight years old, beginning with piano, then adding drums and
percussion at the age of ten, and private voice lessons at the age of thirteen. Throughout elementary and middle school
she was a member of the Troy Honors Choir. Willa is currently involved at the Paul Green School of Rock as an intern and member
studying guitar, bass, percussion, vocals and piano. She can also be seen at local Detroit venues and festivals performing
with her band, 89 Cent Special. Willa would like to use her scholarship to continue with voice lessons and wants to thank
the Troy Community Chorus and Troy School District Fine Arts program for their support and interest.
